READ (DEUTERONOMY 4:1-14)
Israel is ready to move.
Moses offers two impact points...
1. Obey God and worship him alone.
1. Obey God and worship him alone.
The success of Israel hinged upon their obedience to the Lord.
The result meant life and possession of the land.
To add any heathen superstition would be counter-productive.
Moses brought up the time in (Numbers 25:1-9) when Israel became involved in idolatry with Baal.
Everyone who followed was killed.
Little league. Learning to play by the rules.
God’s plan and human opinion are not be to be mixed.
We cannot put in a worldly mindset and expect a result from God.
GBC will always operate as a church.
God’s blueprint for success needs nothing added.

v. 9-10. Teach these things to your children/grandchildren.
Tell the people what God did.
We can take a risk and trust God to provide as he already has.
3. Surrender is safe in the hands of God.
3. Surrender is safe in the hands of God.
V. 10 The “words” referred to the 10 commandments.
The saving acts of God were intended to revoke a response.
Only adequate response was to fear God.
God held us his end. He spoke the promise.
This 2nd generation was called to obey.
“Other kids to do this…” “I’m not worried about other kids.”
We aren’t the rest of the world. We never have never been.
Culture is not designed for complete surrender to God. The church is.
God is calling our church forward in obedience. Now is the time to live in complete surrender together.
